I find my greatest moments of peace when I am outdoors and with those in my life I care about and that care about me. I work hard to have a balanced life of things I have to do and those in which I find my peace. As a Christian, I have a close relationship with my God and Savior, and that keeps me very grounded in all the changes that life brings.
When I began brainstorming what my future counseling practice should be called, I prayed, I took a break from my life and went home to visit my parents and close friends. I tried to quiet my thoughts and focus on what I know I am to offer to our community in Boonville, Missouri.
Through the rolling hills of mid-Missouri, the Missouri River, and the warmth of small-town community, the word “harbor” came to my mind. So I began to pray about it, pour myself over the idea and what this could mean for the people in my small town. The definition of “harbor” is “a safe place providing refuge and comfort.” This fit my heart for those who need to take a break from their struggles to find someone who will go through the rough waters of life with them.
As an office space now, my dream is to own a home office someday. But until then, my goal is to create a home feeling in the office spaces I currently have. I want families to come to counseling at Harbor House Counseling and feel the warmth of a safe haven, a home where they are cared about and listened to.
Harbor House Counseling is here in the form of a counselor who brings warmth, genuine concern, and the feelings of home when you need support and a place to stop in the storms. I look forward to hearing your story and walking beside you as you find your way through. Feel free to reach out and set up your first session to share more of what it’s like to be you.
